Hello,
We are writing to inform you about some changes to the Association's Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled for Friday, June 6th, 2025, at 7:00 p.m.
In response to feedback from several clubs in Alberta, our board has decided to include an in-person meeting at this AGM, alongside the online format. The in-person meeting will take place at the Calgary United Table Tennis Association (CUSTTA) in Calgary. We chose this location to stay within our budget, as the ATTA currently does not have the funds to rent a larger public venue for in-person meetings. Additionally, hosting online meetings allows us to accommodate members who are unable to travel.
It is important to note that online meetings have been recognized as valid since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since 2020, our association's online meetings have been acknowledged and accepted by a court order. Furthermore, our bylaws do not prohibit meetings conducted in an online format. As such, our online meetings comply with both legal requirements and the governing documents of the association.
To ensure a smooth process, the ATTA board has established the following steps for membership:
1. Submit membership applications by end of today, May 23rd, 2025, for review and approval.
2. Clubs are requested to provide their membership list before Friday, May 30th, 2025, for compilation.
We will send detailed information regarding instructions, procedures, revised bylaws, and financial statements to our members on Monday, May 26th, 2025.
We greatly appreciate the cooperation from clubs and individuals who have already submitted their membership applications. Thank you!
If we have unintentionally overlooked any clubs, please share this message to ensure that all Alberta clubs have the opportunity to voice their concerns and collaborate to improve the ATTA.
If you have any questions about the membership process, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Best Regards,
Kim Law
President
