As scheduled, the second Team Alberta Tryout is confirmed to be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025.

Place:  Paddleroom Table Tennis Club at Paddleroom/Pickleball HUB - #115, 25 Chisholm Ave., St. Albert, Alberta


The same rules and policies apply as with the first tryout, they are outlined below for your reference.

Please reply to this email on or before February 24, 2025 to let us know if you are attending this tryout.

Dress Code:

• All players from the provincial team, past and present, must wear their provincial team jersey.
• Players who do not have provincial team shirts may wear table tennis shirts that contain the ATTA logo, or a sports shirt of their choice.
• Training shorts are recommended over long track/sweat pants for comfort and safety.
• Court shoes or runners for indoor-use are a must.

Tryout Rules:

• Doors open at 9:30am for practice and warm up.  Games begin at 10:00am.  All players should arrive on time as we are expecting a large number of players.
• All players must follow all arrangements and instructions given by the ATTA coaching team.
• Players shall not leave the gym during tryout without asking for permission from a coach.
• Parents shall not enter the gym area during the tryout process.  If parents must call on players for urgent matters, please approach a coach for permission.
• There shall not be coaching from coaches/parents/family/peers/friends during the tryout.  Cheering and clapping for encouragement are allowed.

General Selection Rules:

• Top 3 players from each age group (U13, U15, U19) will be selected.  The 4th & 5th finishers will be qualified as shadows to travel with the team for back up; only top 3 players shall compete.
• Doubles and Mixed Doubles shall be paired from top 3 finishers of each age group category.
• Umpires will be available to assist with irreconcilable circumstances during games, and/or at the request of players who encounter difficulties tracking scores or with rules.

Facility Rules and Availability:

• Please comply with all facility rules at Paddleroom.  Parents and spectators must also change into indoor-use shoes at shoe changing area before entering the facility.
• Only water that are bottled and capped, and sports drinks bottled and capped, are allowed inside the gym.
• Eating is designated in the area outside of the front desk, with tables and chairs.  Please tidy up after using.

• I agree to allow my child to participate in the Alberta Table Tennis Association (ATTA) Tryout on March 1, 2025, at Paddleroom Table Tennis Club at Paddleroom/Pickleball HUB - #115, 25 Chisholm Ave., St. Albert, Alberta

• I agree to allow the ATTA to use photographs or electronic recordings of my child to promote table tennis.

• I agree to assume responsibility, financial or otherwise, for any injury, losses or damage arising from participation in junior squad training and/or tryouts, however caused.

• I agree to hold ATTA blameless from and against all actions, suits or claims of any kind arising from any actions of the ATTA, its employees, agents, assigns and volunteers.

• I agree that my child will be subject to the rules and regulations established by the ATTA and its coaches and understand that the ATTA coaching team have the right to dismiss my child from participation in training and/or tryouts for any violation and/or misconduct.
